Blindspot" season 2 executive producer Martin Gero recently hinted on lead character Jane Doe's (Jaimie Alexander) real name.
While speaking with TV Line at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, the exec confirmed that the hit NBC series will kick off three months where season 1 left off.
"They will pick up three months later, and Jane Doe has been in a CIA
black site. You know, that's a rough three months for anyone who's
spent a few months in a CIA black site. And the rest of the cast is just
tyring to come to terms with the end of the year when they found out
that Jane was sort of a double agent and wasn't Taylor Shaw," he said.
Gero added that all of the characters in the series will be very
emotional about the things that happened in season 1. In the premiere,
the truth about Mayfair's death will also be exposed.
When asked how angry the characters in "Blindspot" would be at Jane,
Audrey Esparza said that her character Zapata will be very "furious" at
Jane.
"We're very disappointed... very disappointed," Sullivan Stapleton added.
Meanwhile, Gero said that Jane and Kurt Weller (Stapleton) will have a massive confrontation in season 2.
"These two get into a physical fight in the opening which is kind of
our like... It's really exciting and emotionally destructive to deal
with everybody," he said.
In other news, the exec confirmed that "Blindspot" season 2, episodes
1 and 2 will unveil tons of information about Jane's true identity.
"For us, season 1 is about who is Jane Doe. And now season 1 is over.
And this year is about something else. It's heavily-themed about trust
and family..." he said.
At one point, Gero said that Jane's real name starts with letter A.
"Blindspot" season 2 will premiere on NBC on Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET.
